all large news sites in Sweden today publish an article from TT (like a wire, a la Reuters.. AFP) where they claim the Z500 is also for the Nordic market. TT attended the pressconference in Stockholm.
This is wrong I would think. considering SE press release only mention USA. But...
However the TT article make a note of the fact that the Nordic/Baltic largest phone-company TeliaSonera will introduce EDGE as a "poor man's broadband". Beginning with Finland, Sweden and the rest of the north + baltic over time. The reason for doing this is the high cost of covering the area with 3G equipment.
(btw, Telia Sonera open up its 3G net in Sweden on Thursday)
so. we're getting the best of both worlds over here it seems.

VERY nice flash demo of the phone.

If they really don't have bluetooth its because the american market simply does not yet have the hots for it. I don't remember where I read this (maybe here on Esato) that because of the subsidies the operators simply don't want to pay for any extra stuff.
Now because of all the rednecks out there using push-to-talk they put that feature in instead of bluetooth. It really doesn't bother me because I don't like clamshell phones anyway.... the s700 and k700 are a much sweeter deal!

"Sixty-six percent of Bluetooth products are sold in Europe and 24 percent are sold in Asia. The United States is a distant third with 10 percent of the market, said Mike McCamon, executive director of the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, an industry org-anization"
Don't expect the country that gave the world "AOL" to advance as quick as the rest of us... j/k

@bart said it! i think the thing that set this phone apart is the quich share abilities, the external display, and hopefully,

customizable themes. this whole PoC thing, which will be new in Europe and sell alot of phones there, isn't going to make a difference for

over here. we've had poc for years now and the cheapest phones seem to have it now-a-days and it is so damn annoying. the true cellphone/gaddget lover doesn't care about PoC.
