> Is P900 still the king of SE phones?
Bookmark topic
Sorry to be boring, but rather than asking if the P900 is still top of SE's range, the question should be 'would it bother you if it wasn't?'
I own a P900, and I have to admit that although I use a lot of what it has to offer, I don't make full use of all of it's features. As an example, I've never felt the need to use the camera, but I find the PIM features very useful.
My opinion is that if a better phone is released, so be it. I'll only upgrade if I feel it offers features I need, which my P900 doesn't. I won't upgrade simply because something newer, and more powerful is out there.

i am using mainlly all the p900's functions.email,internet,camera,movie,mp3 player, pda functions etc.i would definately like a better camera, more memory and more power in the cpu.bigger screen too.but all of these are reserved for the future phones.anyway, the idea of the thread was to see what people are thinking about the current and new models of smartphones.

I think you're right in your observation. The P900 is a very powerfull smartphone as to functionality - BUT it's not the fastest. My boss has the p900 and also had a Tungsten T3 and an ipaq H5450. The P900 isn't as fast as any of those two - BUT it's combinations and functionality combined with the phone-features beat them both in our oppinions.
There's still room for improvement in a number of places - but it's the best there is - and it's more than good enough
the new x700-phones isn't aming for the same market as the P900 is. But I thin we'll see a P1000 (or what it'll be called) within the year - with better camera, new long-range bluetooth, better screen, and so on.

Following a post from someone above mentioning the Motorola MPx, I found this link to videos of it :
http://mpx.ruttensoft.com/
I'm an ardent supporter of the P900, and love my P900, but have to admit that the MPx doesn't look bad at all! I'm pretty impressed with the 1.3mpix camera + flash (although the flash in the video looks pretty fake to me!!)...wonder what the processor is like inside tho'

Polyphonic - BAH! I say. Whip out me P900 and 'av a listen to that MP3! Yes! YES! You bow down to the almighty P900 but if you touch it, you shall see what your phone tastes like.
My mate reckons his new Blokia 7610 (new 6600) is way better than my P900, because he's capable of recording 10 minutes of video.
*Huh-hum...(open communicorder, select MSDUO as destination) VOLIA - 128Mb of storage available. Haven't actually tried but it's about an hour of video or more.*

in answer to the topic in question then yes the p900 is king. however i do agree with Red_Five, we pick and use a phone with the features that we need. personally i think that there are thousands of pxxx owners that are barely using 50% of its functional capacity, i for one included. i find it usefull to check my emails, occasional web browsing and taking a few pictures but in all honesty i could do this quite easily with most mobiles. i only picked the p800 because of a free upgrade. i cant be arsed to convert mp4 so i can watch an episode of the simpsons on the bus only to have my phone die on me later because ive drained the battery! it seems to me p900 owners have a superiority complex and seem to see things as a personal battle with nokia users. get f**kin real u sad twats!! as far as the majority of people are concerned a phone is a phone: end of story!

and the day a company works out a way to implement this they'll be laughing all the way to the bank!
Sony does it well with there super thin 5mp T1 cam. The zoom works inside the cam and then mirrored off on a 45degree angle.
Pic done on my P800
