Have just come back from my local Halfords/Ripspeed store. After about an hour of looking I decided on a metallic/chrome copper to do the housing/facia in. Forgot to get some wet and dry

. Ah well another trip on friday and I will finally be ready to start.
@Mervy. Check out page 2 of this topic for how to spot a official housing.
Also check out ebay as that is where i just got my official white housing from. Came with tools as well. All in SE packaging and sealed.
Will post the sellers id here as soon as next go on ebay.

did it come with everything?
for example did it have a different on/off button and a new online button?
any chance of a pic of everything you got, if it's not to much trouble, please.
Thanks

the housings dont come with any of the buttons as they can easily be removed from the old housing and are the same colour on all T630's. They come with the relevent official keypads as well (not the crappy rubber ones). These are what the service centres get when they replace any damaged housings.
Parts include:-
Front facia
middle section
battery cover with mirror already attached
antenna cover with top piece attached
keypad
All sealed inside the manufacturers packaging (official se) all parts have the manufacturers branding where it should have (se on front top section and battery cover, logo badge on antenna cover)
Included Free by the seller:-
T6 screwdriver
Seperator tool
I paid for the housing on 22/5/04 and it arrived today (26/5/04) from Hong Kong.
Very pleased with the sellers service.
I will post pictures of the housing before i make a start on changing it on friday as its too dark to do it now (am watching s.w.a.t on dvd) and i'm working thursday from 12pm until 10.30pm.
Bear in mind they will be taken with my T630's camera as I dont currently own a camera (it broke)

Glad I could help.
If you can get hold of a cheap T610 that is in need of repair the buttons fit the T630.
just thought. I managed to get the purple T-Zones thing off my first T630 by using a small flat blade screwdriver and being very careful. My friend says nail varnish remover will also do it but I'm not sure about that one.

Ok. The metallic/chrome copper paint is now drying. Will hopefully be dry by tomorrow. All thats left is to put the screen back on the front facia and the

logo back on the antenna cover. Have bought some brush on super glue to do that with. Apparently its safe to use on plastics (ABS etc) for bonding. Not sure wether to put a coat of clear laquer on the housing before I re-assemble it. Will take another 48 hours if I do.
