Make sure you have choosen "wap" in internet settings with the correct IP. Not "html" with proxy turned on. That should only be used if the phone is branded (it's a thing operators use in order to block you from visiting Sony Ericssons Fun & Downloads site and instead force you to use the operators download site so they can charge you for pictures, tones etc).

Don't trust that the above is fixed automatically if the settings are sent to your phone. Make manually sure that the settings are as wanted.

If it doesn't fix your problem then there must be some other settings that are wrong... I have tried a lot of K700i and never ever heard of your problem not being fixed by switching settings.

Last resort would be to call your operator and ask if there is a problem with gprs at the moment.

Try not to reset the phone as a solution: You will loose stuff you can't get back, like games (none transferable back to the phone at the moment).

Very last resort would be to simply upgrade the firmware even though that there might not be a fix for your problem. It could simply be that there is some faulty system in your phone (corrupt would be the correct word I think). Or there is a memory problem in you phone that makes the system corrupt (if it is corrupt) and then it can't be fixed... it must then be sent in.

It's not worth spending days figuring out what the problem is or hoping it eventually will be fixed by itself... simply send the phone in and sit back and relax while others do the job you don't get paid for in the first place.

Good luck buddy!

I don't understand. Does the menus lag 0.5 seconds in the new firmware? How do you know it's a bug and not a way for SE to slow down the system to keep the battery life last longer?

This is what I was afraid of... the phone is so fast with R2A that I thought they would slow it down in the future to make the battery last longer... am I wrong here? Please explain a little more about this, thanks!

"...the phone is so fast..."
Compared to what???

"You know who" manufactures comparable phones that are MUCH, MUCH faster than the K700i. Let's be realistic!

@ haki

You should compare menus, sms writing etc between a T610 and a k700i then you'll see what I mean when saying that the faster system must use more battery than for older models that have a slower system.

It's possible that there is a Samsung or other sushi dinner out there that is faster than the K700i. My knowledge goes for Sony Ericsson only. I'm sure it's ok if you want to start a topic about differences between a Samsung (or whatever) and a K700i; in this topic we are discussing the firmware for the K700i though.

I figure that the battery is about the same capacity (give or take 10 percent) but the actuall usage capacity compared between the the two phones shows that the real capacity differ far from that. I'd say the T610 uses roughly half as much capacity when using menus etc even though the battery is almost the same. I claim that it has something to do with the fact that the K700i is so much faster than T610.

If it now turns out that the new software is slowing down menus (see above) and that the battery capacity now is better, then my statement is - unfortunately - true!

I am obviously referring to Nokia who is reknowned for the fastness of the menus. It's strange that Samsung came to your mind and not the maker that (unfortunately) has a market share of 35% worldwide! By comparable phones I mean the 6230 which is so much swifter. The K700i is definitely faster than the T610 but I think that we should compare it to current models. The competition for the K700i is the 6230, the Siemens CX/M-65, the Moto E-398 etc. A manufacturer ought to see where its product stands in the market NOWADAYS, not how it compares to his own earlier products...

...I think!!!

35 percent? Don't worry... it's dropping even as we speak 34.9... 34.8... 34.7...

I bet that Nokias president regrets that stupid thing he said two years ago when Ericsson asked the marked for money. "A strong company isn't affected when the general market is having a cut down." Guess he was driving at 55 mph and stuck his head out the window while taking a spit... he must've realized it eventually would land straight back at his head. I'm really having fun at that guy

Hope this new firmware will solve problems and maybe have to wait few more days and will come back to update the result and performance for this R2E011 to you guys!!
