How much do you think the networks spent to set up a GPRS netowrk? Did they spend a ton of money to build one? I don't think so. This is because the network already exists when they built their GSM networks. So why are they charging such a high price for internet access. They should make it as low as dial up access (if not free). 0.25 per kb is just too much!!!
Wala lang. We should lobby for lower GPRS charges.

If there's someone from SUNCELL reading this topic, I hope they would stay with the free wap offer since it's getting people to buy their product.

@ p3rsmag
this is the simplest way to get your wap/gprs working. point your browser to
http://www.sonyericsson.com look for the wap setup.
***important***
once you have downloaded the OTA setting, go to "data comm." look for the DNS address, then input 202.138.128.28 *someone said that there was a default DNS address, i havent tried it yet, but i will asap.. if that works pretty fine, then yun na lang ipapalit ko sa pinost ko.

*kenski said that you need not to change or put a DNS address.
i dont know if this one is charged, for i haved used "minternet" over the months, (and it is charged 25c/kb). this one's apn is "wap" , so i'm not sure if this is free or not.

I'm using a sun sim now and gprs is free. My only concern is that it takes time to download a page

I started using Sun GPRS (postpaid) for WAP browsing 3 months ago and I was not billed a single centavo for using it! A month ago, i bought a Sun prepaid to use it for WEB browsing, using the 'minternet' as the APN so i can monitor their charging fee. Truly, they charge only 25cents/kb (no more no less) for internet and FREE for WAP. Good day to all!

FYI : GLOBE GPRS is free, your can browse on its wap site for free, if u decide to download from their wide array of poly tone, wallpapers & etc... thats the only time you will charge of and thats for downloading the item on your phone and not for using GPRS.

Visiting other wap/web site is also possible with GLOBE GPRS only this time you will charge . Hope this clear things up regarding GLOBE GPRS
