Thnx for a great guide i am having major hassles downloading the latest ver of sonic stage 1 it says i need to register to download it but but on the sony site there is no option to register the MSAC -US30
2 its says i have to install a new IE but iuse firefox
the other problem im having all my mp3 are fine but for some reason sonicstage is playing and recording them as blank:( any idea's

First let me thank you for the excellent primer!
I downloaded the Sonic Stage thing, version "3.3", and coverted a couple files to Atrac3 (OpenMG Audio is the same right?) and they won't play.
Any ideas?

Are you just copying the files over to the memory card. This doesn't work you can only play files that are transferred by sonicstage.
Also be careful of the bitrate on the transfer. There are two types of atrac (standard atrac3 and atrac3plus) make sure the transfer is in standard atrac. This can be found in the advanced option under the transfer button.
