A pole thrue the heart of your phone will definitely kill the ghost, or whatever haunts your phone, but unfortunately your phone will certainly be FUBAR... .

Seriously, before you go to bed: Remove the battery and the SIM-card. Hide the phone, the battery and the SIM-card in different places.

Seriously, when you are awake: Turn off the Bluetooth functionality.

Honestly, it all seems quite weird... .

I can't see how it can be a network-related problem, at least not in this particular case. How can it be?

First, explain your problems to your network provider and ask for a new phone number and SIM card. It may be a network problem.

We've had the same situation with our house phone - we'd get calls from totally unknown people saying "you called me, who are you" with the person obviously getting our number (ISDN). Also, we'd get calls that should have gone to (i.e.) 555-11223, when our phone number was (again, i.e.) 555-98534. All the people had dialled the correct number but got routed to us. Telenor (the provider) could not tell us anything.

Typical ghost in the machine setting, stuff like this happens sometimes with the PSTN here and it's not quite impossible that it could happen to your cell phone network either. Computers do have weird unexplainable bugs now and again. It's a bogon problem.

After you've gotten a new SIM, if the problem persists, demand that they fix it and go to a new provider if they don't. A nice telco would understand and help you out.

IF the problem persists whatever you do; do me a favor and consider the schizo theory I'm not kidding, I have very close young family with this problem - he's not entirely schizo but then very few are true schizophrenics. Anyways he gets delirious from time to time, does things he doesn't remember afterwards.

If the following happens to you often, please consider even more a medical checkup of yourself: You remember talking to a person at a given time. That person remembers talking to you, but is certain he didn't say the things you KNOW he said. This is classical; you have heard sentences the other person didn't say. Delirium.

I've been that other person many times, it can be quite disconcerting.

And the worst part of it is, when delirium strikes in, you don't know it.

Please don't take this as a "you're sick, mate" post, I'm just thinking out loud about the different possibilities. Most likely this is just a telco computer problem, no worries.

Ta.
