Why is it every time theres a playstationn thread it always gets hijacked by xbox users going on about how xbox is better etc. etc. Jealous cos ps2 is more popular so more ppl to swap games etc. with? I don't own either but given the choice i'd say a silver ps2 or slimline looks much more stylish in your high tech living room. Although the clear xbox looks pretty trick.

the ability to play ps1 games was attractive to those who already had invested in them, same will go for ps2->ps3 upgraders. However I can see the next ps/xbox going more in the direction of complete home entertainment systems with HD video recording and mp3 etc, maybe even dvd writing, in a smart looking package which won't look out of place next to your tv/hifi, with wireless controllers.

The playstation generation....style over substance. Aleds post proves it. I believe it was a egg at the xbox that started it all. Sony already have the psx out in japan(a ps2 with built in dvd writer and hd recorder and multimedia stuff), but it's a huge failure. The tecmo boss has already voiced his concerns about sony taking their eye of GAMING and trying to go into the home appliance market with the ps3.
