Perfectly adequate? Like the K700i's battery? Why don't SE dump the joke of a camera, poor quality mp3 player and large screen and use the space for a decent battery? You might like the cut of your suit but I prefer horses for courses.

Admittedly the battery is poor and this is something SE should look at, but technology does improve, patience is a virtue. I do not need my K700 to be able to last for ten days because I live near a plug socket and am able to recharge my phone. I would also like to point out that other mobile phones with 'extras' do have better battery lives than the K700.
As for the 'joke of a camera' I was unaware that you required the ability to take photoshhot quality pictures of your chums in the local alehouse.
The mp3 player may not be of the best quality, but it does its job i.e. one can hear music. I have no problem with using a dedicated mp3 players when I'm by the pool sipping martinis, but I prefer not to look like an an extra from Star Trek as I walk down the street.
As for the large screen, I was also unaware that you prefer to squint like a myoptic mole when reading text.
I also like horses, especially when they are racing and especially when they win me lots of money.

The sister could get a P900 if she doesn't mind the size, they are going rather cheap these days. Alternatively she could perhaps invest in a Z1010, although I would have recommended waiting for the Z1020 as the Z1010 is pretty much outdated now.

I have to comment on the idea that mobile phones are just to make phone calls. Should we be able to access Esato from our computers? Should we be able to watch DVDs on our computers? After all computers were initially designed to solve mathematical problems for governments and large corporations, not as multi-media devices to be found in homes across the world. Computers evolved and so too have mobile phones and they shall continue to evolve.
Phone calls are one means of communication, a mobile phone's primary aim is to allow one to be able to contact other people, initially through voice calls, but now through SMS, MMS, e-mail, video calls, etc The addition of games, video players, radios, etc may very well be superfluous to the basic function of a mobile phone, but they fill an important function in and of themselves, they are fun! I have no idea why someone would moan at soemthing, which brings them a spot of fun when they have a few minutes (or even hours) to kill. I also see no reason why someone would moan at a device, which is able to increase productivity by allowing the user to view and edit documents and files, etc No one is forced to use the extra features on their phones, indeed, if one is so inclined, one can buy an older phone without these features.

I think she wants a phone with many other functions. As SE advertised, K700 is a phone, and it is also a camera; for me, it is more than a phone/camera.

I think all these games and mp3 functionality are for people who like to make a fashion statement but don't actually have any mates to phone. Around here we call them "Nokia owners".

I couldn't agree more Only thing they can do is brag about the phone's functionalities and never seem to have a single mp3 or video or game to play (well that's if they don't pay me some money to shove some trials and themes on it )

Surprisingly noone recommended Motorola E398. It is even closer to the K700 than that hideous 6230. What about V80? I'd recommend a good Samsung, but with mmf tones etc, don't think it would be compatible and fun for you and your sister to share content etc. This message was posted from a T310

Samsung seems to have something against Bluetooth.

I agree, but if it isn't all that important to him, he can still check them out.
