The Core Membership entitles you to early access to purchase Sony Ericsson phones at a discount (one phone per model), direct access to Sony Ericsson Developer Support engineers via e-mail (5 support incidents included), and quarterly Sony Ericsson member kit on top of all the services that are available to Community Members.

wait so its like, you pay 500 bucks and you get a discount and early dibs on just ONE mobile phone?
A few things that bother me include the fact that being able to purchase the phone early probably means a few weeks early, and a discount is probably a max of 80 bucks.
'Lets say to get the phone early is worth another 70 dollars if you could put a price on it.
That would mean 80+70= 150 500-150 = 350. So I'm paying 350 dollars more for a phone just because I couldn't be patient.....
lol
and I may be wrong but they way I understood it was 1 phone/model meaning 1 phone i.e. model rather than 1 phone per model.

read it again
Core Members can buy 1 phone of each phone model offered for sale
this means you can buy 1 each of all the existing models and any new model for the next year, and at discount rates, and they are offered earlier than most other places as the P910i is now.
In the last year I have bought T610, T630, Z600, P900 and K700 so imagine what I might be buying in the next year.
I think the savings in the long run will be well worth it and possibly models I am not interested in I can buy and sell on
I guess its not for everyone though
