I use cracked P9xx softwares and i bought a cd compilation of P9xx apps and games with keygens from a friend. I couldnt buy on line on the my-symbian site, where most symbian apps are found. My country is in the "blocked" list.
Another concern is, when you upgrade from P900 to P910, you have to buy the same software again.

Thats not always the case, I email the developers of Jmsn pro, sent my old IMEI number & the new one & they sent me code for new 1

I read all of ur opinions and frankly, if i find a cracked soft, i use it. Why? Cuz i don't have to pay for it; it's simple; if it's there, just reach out and get it.On the other hand, i paid 800$ for my phone (my 1 month wage) and i CAN'T buy software cuz i don't have a credit card in euro, just in my national currency.So i'm stucked with freeware and cracked soft.Nuthin' to do here...

By default i'd like to buy software i like, but only if
a) it's worth the money depending on complexity and my personal judgement (am programmer myself)
(compare e.g. WindowsXP $100 with a symbian prog for $25.
Is XP only 4times as good/complex?)
b) there is really no freeware/opensource alternative available, which i would prefer regardless of the money involved (live the freeware spirit *g*)
c) i could afford it at the current time, otherwise i'd use the pirated version until i can afford it again
Personally i have no ethical problem with pirated versions, since no one
gets actually hurt or ripped off.
But it's WRONG to say that if i'd use a pirated version i'd never ever buy
a license for it.
I'm no pirate-by-nature, i've got respect for every programmer (pc or mobile or whatever) because i'm programming myself for decades now.

But every tool/program/game i ever released in the last 20 years
has been FREEWARE, even if i would have got a need for an extra money from time to time
