I'm not too ure why many of you see 'P1001' as being a silly name, just because it isn't a round number. SE can theoretically name their next smartphone whatver they want, although I would have to agree that 'P1000' is a more likely title.

Well, you did get the Z1010... I get the feeling that the announcement wont be anything to do with a new px model, if it is indeed anything like that, surely it will be a regional version, for example you had p800 and p802, same phone. MAybe something like that?

I think we can almost certainly expect a new 3G phone to be announced.

The Z1010 is just too outdated now, they need to release something new soon if they want to be a major player in the 3G market.

SE did announce the S710 before the S700 was released. So from that perspective it might be possible.
yeah but one is aimed at north america and the other is an international version....
That is correct, however the S710 adds EDGE to the phone._________________

@Residentevil
I think the reason the S700 does not support EDGE is that EDGE is not available in many European markets; there doesn't seem to be much interest in it when there is 3G.

back to the name---> i think this was covered earlier somewhere, but shouldn't a 3 digit number be a gsm (or whatever 2nd generation is) and a 4 digit number like z1010 a umts phone?
