masseur, Please outline fully what we need to do to use this service or what we need to have. All along I thought this online update was done via WAP on the actual phone. Now I see it might not be so, plus this syncstation. Please help.

you need to have either a DSS-20 or DSS-25 sync station. these are the ones that come with the P900/P910 etc or you can buy them cheaply on their own on ebay
you will need to load the driver software that comes with them, or download the driver from the SE support site if it doesn't come with (some do, some don't), then stick you phone on the sync station and visit the web page given at the beginning of this thread. It will take you step by step through the process including downloading and installing a java program which is what actually performs the update
you cannot update via bluetooth, IR, wap or any of the earlier sync stations. it must be either the DSS-20 or DSS-25

Well i hate to bring bad new to all the people with o2 k700, but it does not work for us a window pop-ups up saying the "your operator does not allow this service" oh well we'll just have to wait and see if it will allow branded k700 to be updated?

I just hope it's still up in a few hours when I get home.
Still not on the

K700 website yet so it could go down whenever in my book.

I wonder if if crashes because of sheer demand? If that is so, try updating your phone at 3am!
Perhaps

are still ironing some bugs out of the system, although when I did it I had no problems apart from my computer rebooting itself at the end of the update (possibly my problem, not theirs?)

Yep, seems like they still not sorted this out as this was the problem i had last time the service was up. Ah well, all we can do is wait for some O2 branded firmware to appear i suppose. If anyone manages to update an O2 branded phone then please post

i'm itching for new firmware.

Check if you've got a Firewall that has stopped the new pop-up window.
Had to disable my Norton Firewall with my p900 update.

@dovern, quite a few P900 updaters get the same problem. I don't recall a fix off the top of my head but its worth browsing some of the P900 online update threads
@Superluminova, this is also a message given by the P900 online update. Mine was unbranded when I bought it but originally O2 branded and though it worked for the first couple of updates, SE changed their checks to check the P900 IMEI and thereafter I couldn't do the online update. I haven't heard that O2 have any new firmware since the original for K700 so it could be simply that there is nothing for o2 to offer you
