Don't you think theres a bit of bias in this forum though (to be expected but still.... )

Nokia's new 9300 and 9500 seem to have SE's 910 beaten hands down. I realize I am comparing un-released phones to released ones but it seems likely that SE is at least 3 quarters away from releasing a new PDA phone and if thats the case Nokia seem to have leapfrogged them. My guess is that the 910 is essentially stillborn with Nokia's announcements. If I was considering the 910 I don't see why I wouldn't wait for the 9300 instead (The missing camera being an un-important feature for the most users in the targeted market) or go for the 9500 in 2 weeks

With regards to service my experiences with Nokia service here in the UAE are definitely better than SE's even though I still carry an SE phone.

As an example, SE's P800 has a basic flaw in that the wings on the flip (the little pieces on the side of the flip that holds it over the screen) invariably break off after a few months use (I know four different people it has happened to.. has happened to me personally twice). Even if it happens under warranty through normal use, SE's local support charges an exorbatant amount for the replacement of what is essentially a plastic piece with no electronics. The replacements break in a few months as well because they haven't bothered to change the design any or reinforce it.

I bought the Nokia 9110 soon after it came out and after 9 months of use, dropped it and broke the screen. Nokia service replaced it free of charge even though it was my fault.

I wouldn't use these incidents to compare support globally but certainly everyone goes through different experiences.

@methylated_spirit and others

I agree that SE is especially appreciated by 'advanced users'.

But does that have to go with an 'advanced' price tag too? A lot has to do with the user interface on the one hand and added parts (BT, IR, memory) on the other. They should be able to make phones in every price range that do keep the SE-user interface and leave out the expensive stuff that not much people use.

But even then, most competitors can produce decent looking camera phones with acceptable featurres for €149, new. Impossible for SE?

If SE wants more market share, then they have to broaden their collection. If SE wants to be the "advanced users' brand" then they have to produce no phone that costs less than €300 and *never* let the price drop for more than 25% from its launch-price. (Then they will miss the potential of users that buys an entry-phone, to change it later for an expensive one because they become experienced and want more features. And they will go down as a company, but at least they will go down with pride because they were the very best but alas, no customers anymore).

(If the the latter will be the case, fine by me, but then I'll switch to another brand - even though I bought the T600 at its full entry price at the time. I am prepared to pay more because of the SE brand, but it has its limits. I will not pay double the price.)

to be bias is OK. everyone hv their own preferences.

u can either do it constructively by highlighting how good SE is or you can do it inmaturely by putting down Nokia just to make SE looks good.

imo, looks like some SE fans are the latter with so many unsubstatiated claim such "...people who buy Nokia have no mind of their own" repeated over and over and over and over again.

My personal opinion
-------------------

Is this forum biased ? YES PRO - SE.

Is SE better than Nokia ? YES in quality and style
NO in quantity and variety

Will SE overtake NOKIA ? NO, NEVER....

..here is an example....

Every1 knows NOKIA is "connecting people"

Can anybody tell me the punch line for SE ? I dont know !
At least NOKIA has much better/exeprienced marketing.
NOKIA serves an audience which is much larger
NOKIA will rule a long time to come.

rofl @joebmc....

Someone here compares SE with MICROSOFT !!

MICROSOFT are pioneers in OS. INTEL produces its chip for MS OS optimization performances in motherboards...
These companies monoplolize markets.. they have no competitors in their area...

You are right... Such companies dont need punch line....

SE is a baby!
