I think it's a mixture of praising SE where it isn't warranted and overly negative criticism of competitors i.e. Nokia. People do get carried away, it's almost like a misplaced sense of patriotism.

@scotsboy
definatly right.
but i still think it makes for interesting debate. if the debate was all just one way ie se phones are all great the price is perfect.
the site would be dull.
most of the debates are subjective and its down to each person if they agree or disagree.
like the cost of the s700, for some cost is irrelavant for others not
but it was still a good debate.as long as people aint taking utter crap and back up there views then long may the debates contiune

I agree, I enjoy a good debate, but only as long as it is interesting. I tend to lose interest when debates degenerate into regurgitating old points and nit-picking.
@boba
I suppose the answer, very unrealisticaly, is for people to stop moaning.

Somehow I don't see it happening ...

i agree with that scotsboy some recent threads have gone over there limit and the same points coming up. in those i think the best thing to do is agree to disagree and try to walk away.
as or positvie threads if the original post wants to see more why not start more
theres nothing stopping them or anyone who agrees starting positive threads.
as memebers we all can start thread on most topics and none of the mods complain

Indeed, if anyone feels that there is a lack of positive threads, or threads regarding a particular topic then why no create one? Esato is what we make it.

There is a difference between constructive criticism; debate, rational argument and moaning. I'm not going to praise SE where they don't deserve it and I will offer constructive criticism, but I don't see much point in moaning about something.

@scotty whats your opinion: should it be stopped by the mods or we, members, should notify the poster of such threads? Whe begin and ends moaning?

I don't think there is any need to inform the moderators, the members are quite capable of replying. There is nothing wrong with a good debate, but if someone starts posting tosh then the other members should be able to say something, without a flame war erupting.
