Hi All,

Just like to add to the debate. I am new to this forum, but not SE mobile phones. I have tried a few brands, but always return to SE
On a personal note: I am an IT consultant for a firm in the UK. Boring I know... so enough c??p about me.

My new s700i (vodafone branded, but not relevant I think) has crashed at least 5 times, whilst using different functions. Sometimes receiving an SMS, other times in the middle of a call (how annoying!)

The screen goes blank, the phone vibrates a few times and after approx. 20 seconds it restarts. You can tell the phone has restarted because menu functions like "Add symbol" within the SMS menu, "forgets" where it was.

This is why I believe it is a firmware problem. Only problem with it being firmware is SE doesn't have one for the s700 due out 'til the end of this year... sigh....

One thing I haven't had time to find out yet is how you can check the firmware version within this phone? So thanks if someone can at least help with that.

Monty.

I suppose the obvious advice is for the chap to upgrade his firmware.

Yeah . . . So what else is new here, as the K700i has it's downsides too .. . then! Change of firmware perhaps is the most sensible solution at present . . .

My s700i reboots about 2-5 times a day, in any situation. Sometimes when placed in the handsfree in the car during idle time (no call or anything). Sometimes in a phonecall. Now I am just waiting for that upgrade that solves this?

I only have a Z600 (voda branded) and I think there is a small insignificant problem with SE phones when new. This is that they reboot a few times in the first few days and then don't do it again.
This is probably what has happened to most of you complainers, but to others who still experience problems after about 2 weeks, I would suggest getting the phone looked at!
