Quote:still no ability to read SMS which are in user custom created folders and in FC mode?Sorry, but for doing that you need a messaging application which FrontView is not (it just calls the standard Messages app).

Looks really nice, but two things:

a) the analog clock looks ...err....awful
But this may just be a matter of taste?
Any way the user can create it's own? is the clock hardcoded
or made from bitmaps or....?

b) The font-size is extremly tiny when not using the default system font. (Tried with "nina" my favourite and "verdana"). Normal
layout looks out, Frontview looks veeeeeeery very tiny, even hard to read.
Normal behaviour?

Quote:Any way the user can create it's own? is the clock hardcoded or made from bitmaps or....?Clocks implement hardcoded pseudo-animation, no any bitmaps, to minimize energy consumption, so currently no way for user-defined clocks. This might change later.Quote:Frontview looks veeeeeeery very tiny, even hard to read. Can you please send a screenshot? FrontView uses only standard system fonts, and is not aware of the effects of font redefinitions.

Regarding the other problems, FrontView performs weaker on P800 than on later models. While we keep on improving backward compatibility, apparently some issues can not be resolved.

wouldn't it be easier to create a sis file for P9X0 and one for the P800 with some optimizations? because the graphical problems on the P800 make it look like a beta staged program instead of a final product

Quote:create a sis file for P9X0 and one for the P800 with some optimizationsIt's already like that (code partly differs for the two devices) just in one common .sis.Quote:on the P800 make it look like a beta staged programWe don't have a P800 for testing, that's the root of problem (plus [lack of] features like P800's inability to display FC dialogs). The easiest for us would be to disable installing FrontView on a P800 (like SE did with their Desktop app).

But a used P800 on Ebay isn't that expensive anymore and it would really help the P800 users that were left in the cold by SE.

@lisa: (font)problem solved, dunno what it was, after a reboot it has been ok.
Still only half as big as when FV disabled, but same size as system font now.

FrontView 1.50 has been released. New features include:

- Lock and screensaver became a separate application, see BigBen
- Fast access to the Service menus and other special functions
- New options for call reporting and displaying undated tasks
- Many small changes resulting in a smoother overall operation

This release is a free upgrade for registered users. Download from CellPhoneSoft (updated docs also available) or My-Symbian. Feedback is welcome here or at support@cellphonesoft.com . Enjoy!
