What's the latest version of V800 firmware available from an authorised SE service centre in the UK?? I just got one and I am wondering whether I should try to obtain the latest firmware but I have no intention of flashing the thing myself.

Will I be able to take the V800 and get it flashed to R3J? or is the latest available from a service centre older than R3J?

Found it awhile ago...

-Sometimes your camera is focusing upside down instead of right side up...workaround, you have to close the phone and reopen the camera.

When you are taking photo using external view finder (filp closed) in Horozontal mode, your image in the screen is upside down.

I have found out that although the Sony Ericsson firmware server (that repair centres download their versions from) do have the V800 R1J, Vodafone has yet to "authorize" the R1J version as one of their "approved" firmwares, so theoretically the official service centres are not permitted to upgrade V800s to R1J.

I was talking via e-mail to a place around me that does unlocking and they mentioned to me that V800 FW: R1J002 EU9 does NOT unlock the Mp3 function playback (Without DRM). Did you have to do some editing yourself...

I did find that without de-customising, MP3 still doesn't work as ringtones on the R1J. But I managed to download the DRM packager before SE took it down so I used that instead.

Very soon Z800 firmware will be released for the V800 so you have to worry anymore.

Thank God...any time frame as to when...I want to order a V800 but I would hate having a crippled expensive phone till the proper firmware is released...
