can someone help me set up my Treo 650 with the proper network settings for ICE? I need the GPRS settings so I can use my phone to access the internet. Anyone know anything about GPRS?

oh man getting a sim card in this country is exstreemly difficult. I cant even roame with my norwegian sim card here. I been alot of places and i never seen anything like this before! Its shocking! Rest of costa rica is really cool. But the hole mobile phone thing in cr sucks! You actuallly need a recite for your mobile to get a sim card! Thats going to be really hars since i bought it in Singapore

Does anyone know if a GPRS Class 10 EDGE phone (such as a Motorola v186) will yield faster data speeds than a normal GPRS Class 10 phone (such as Motorola c650) on Costa Rica's GSM network?

Also, has ICE started charging for GPRS internet or started offering pay-as-you-go SIM cards? I know that they had "plans" to do these things over a year ago...

As far as I know there are no pay as you go plans at all. They are still dealing with people grabbing lines as fast as they become available with the leapfrog of technology lots of people have gone straight to a cel phone because there are some areas that still have a waiting list for land lines.
Also when I checked last they are still trying to sort out the billing for internet access so while it was free before if you had not added it as an option on your SIM they told me in December that I could not add it to my new SIM
If you are trying to do anything with newer technology I suggest asking at least 3 different people or offices since it is difficult to get the right set up unless the person has done it before or has been trained on that service

Well well I been here one year now. And I do have a ice cell line. But no gprs what so ever. ICE really is a drag! I like to know does anyone know of any country that has a worse gsm thecnolygy than Costa Rica? Or is Costa rica oficialy the worst GSM country in the entire world?
No GPRS
No MMS
No international SMS
2 hours in a line to make complains and so on....
Bueno Costa rica es tuanis mi encanta este pais solo ICE es una mierda! Me cago en ICE!
