Yes, I think one will have to take the phone apart in order to remove the rubber bottom cover clean off the body.

Here is a quite long post...

I have had my K700 for 7 months this week and according to FMA, I have charged it 47 times. This gives 7*30/47 = 4.5 days per charge on average. I never turn the phone off and nowadays I usually only charge the phone once a week. Before going on a trip I usually charge the phone even if the battery is not empty in order to avoid bringing the charger. Thus, some of the 47 charges could be called unnecessary.

The first week I had to charge the phone every other day but that was probably due to heavy use of the camera and browsing through the menus (the display consumes a lot of power). I feel that the battery improved somewhat when I started to charge it overnight instead of only until the indicator shows full. My personal record now is eight full days. Quite good even if it still is far from the 300 hours mentioned by SE. On the other hand, this depends also on how frequently the operator requires location updates from the phone.

Maybe a contributing factor to my good standby time is that here at work (Kista, Sweden), the closest base station antenna is about 20 meters from my window so the signal strength is always 100% (according to FMA) during the day

Some facts:
* Display power-save mode on
* Static theme (no animation)
* Total call time is 15 hours (4 - 5 minutes per day)
* Approximately one SMS per day
* About one MMS per month
* Short WAP sessions a few times per week
* Camera is used a few times per week
* By the way, I am still using R2A041, I haven't bothered to upgrade yet. (On my phone, the last bar on the battery indicator means about 24 hours of standby left.)

@Maxwell welcome to esato

20 metres away from an antenna, hope you don't have metal fillings

8 days, wow, I managed four but give my phone a good seeing to every day, with bluetooth games etc. My average call time is roughly 12.5 mins per day. I charge my phone on average every other day but will usually always top even if half full when I'm off out for the night as I never know what part of the country I'm going to wake up in

I charge my K7 every two days and it still has the oldest firmware, R2A. It's always connected to my HBH-300. I use it for making calls, sending messages and around 3 to 4 hours of GPRS use a day.

Same with me, I got R2AE, and now, I only charge it every 3-5 days, it is surprising! Very convinient, although with R2C, I charged it every 2 days or so!

I charge mine every 2 to 3 days. Each day, I make about 10 minutes of calls, send a number of text messages, and occasionally use GPRS and the camera. I'm quite impressed with this life.

@ CrackerJack

Why don't you update to R2AE? There are some *significant* improvements, especially since R2A.
