This can only happen with sidekicks. The reason is that Danger designed them so that you never have to back them up, they automatically sync themselves with Danger's servers and back themselves up without informing you. If there is a problem you simply run a utility and they restore themselves over the air. Some kid was able to hack the system and get the backups for every sidekick II on T-Mobiles network.
The lesson here is don't use over the air synchronization, especially if you are a celebrity.
By the way, I would consider trying one of those programs that masks where an SMS comes from just to send texts to so many different celebrities.
