this is a silly discussion, my dog looks up all the time whether sitting or standing.

What about when a dog is standing on its hind legs? Now, i havent tested this yet, but im pretty sure that when im holding a tasty treat, and the dog stands on his back legs to sniff at it, its head is nearly always level. Im sure he looks up from the eyes in this sitution, his head staying level, parallel to the ground.

They can look up. But the clause is a bit tougher. (They should ignore their counterparts.)
