So it's been a while, the K750i is out and there should be some leaked K550i informations by now or pictures. Can someone give us some details ? Everyone at Mobile-review seems to be suspiciously quiet. I wonder why.
Anyway i own a K500i now and i really want to know what features this new phone has. I really hope they will make a 220x176 screen as the K500i's is horrible! Even the T630 one looks better because of the smaller dot pitch, because the physical size is smaller. I would have preferred a smaller screen but sharper image quality. So a 220x176 screen is a MUST!
Just look at the CX75, they reduced the size of the screen to 80% that of CX65. Even they realised that quality is more important than quantity (or size in this case). The difference is that they are "faking" a better screen, because the resolution is the same.
And it is logical for 220x176 screen to be on the K550i because 128x160 is old, it's been around for two years now! Most of middle-end phones last year had 128x160 so it's only natural to progress and SE would be one of the first to do so.
Also bluetooth is a must since CX75 has it starts to enter the middle-segment. And a memory card support is very important. CX75 has it and i don't think SE would want to get left behind or lose customers. I don't even care if there is a memory card in the sales package, i'd buy at least a 128 MB one for MP3s. No memory card would seriously cut a lot of the functionality in the phone and a lot of people would choose the CX75 just for that feature!
And finally a 1,3 MegaPixel camera. I think it will be the same sensor used in the K600i, maybe a little better. They sould resove the noise because it's really a big problem. At least reduce it a little. Oh and i'd love 352x288 recording *crosses fingers* but i don't think that's going to happen. At least better quality of the 176x144 videos, more bitrate for better quality on PC.
That's about all. I read there will be a presentation on the 14th of June where SE will introduce new phones. Do you have ANY informations if the K550i will be presented there ? Logically it should be because the CX75 will hit the maket in 1-2 months, it was already reviewed and there is still no sign of the K550i. Also the K500i was announced about the same time last year and entered the maket in september so it would make sense to present it there as the phone's life cycle is about one year.

there has not been much info about the k550 replacement.
hopefully well get some info by june 14.
i think se should give it 220*176 as u said and should give high end model qvga screen.
maybe se see k700 as a replacement of k500 by dropping the price,we have seen se using similar stratergy with t6x0 phones.

Thanks shyam for the reply. You said they dropped the T6x0 prices to make it middle-end. True but that didn't stop them from releasing the K500i
and it's a much better phone than T630 in my opinion but without BT. And thanks for the warm welcome.

I agree about the screen, 128x160 should be left to die in low end phones. Although I wouldn't want them to shrink the size of the screen but I wouldn't think 262k is necsessary.

Yep, no 262k. I'd rather have a 65k 220x176 screen than a 262k 128x160 one! The difference is impossible to spot with the naked eye. And just look at how much 6680 is slowed down by 262k screen.
