heh! No, too bulky for a phone, better to have one powerful processor than two less powerful ones, which gives a smaller geographical foot print..
Once multicore processors are common they will find their way into mobile phones, then it will get interesting....

@whizzkid, ah, well I just googled it, a 150MHz.
It's slow in use compared to the P800, according to a raft of forum posts I viewed looking for info on the processor (I'm not a Nokia fan, don't hate em, just don't know as much about em as SE) but I haven't tried it myself.
This makes sense, since the UIQ interface is very efficient and would probably run the hardware of the P800 quite nicely. The more modern hardware on the 7710 would be drastically underpowered by a 150MHz chip (if it is similar or same architecture to the ARM9) I would think.

To compare the 7710 to any of the Pxx cells is like comparing a Porsche 911 turbo to a Fiat uno Mia . Mind you they both have two doors, but this is about all they've got in common ;-) Greetings from a sunny South Africa. Mario

You´re just too funny you know?? You started this thread knowing everything you ask, just to provoque, and now you come to talk about 7710
LOL
Quote:The conclusion is rather simple - buying it is possible if you have much money and are ready for brave experiments. Anyway you can try what Nokia 7710 is in a shop. Words about mythic "power", "strength", and "functionality" of the device do not pass real life tests; the smartphone is uncomfortable in everyday life. If you need a business device, you'd better have a look at Nokia 9300/Nokia 9500. They have a higher operating speed and comparable functionality. If you need a touchscreen, you'd better turn to Sony Ericsson products or MS Windows Mobile smartphones.

Yeah buddy I've started the tread but not the chat about the mighty 7710.And you are right I know quite a lot about it.In fact I love it.Unfortunately is not available in my country (for now) IMHO thou the 6680 wins hands down when it comes to smart phones.And that includes the 7710 :-(
