Got my MP3 player a few weeks back, I am an XP user and everytime I tried to install the MMC reader/writer it kept comming up with same error message. Got on to our friends at Sony Ericsson support which they replied theres no supposrt for XP or Win 2000. By time I had reply I had everything up and running, E-mailed them back with the solution, they should now have it on there support database.
For anyone still having problems - On instalation disc under technical support there is the independant manufacturer of the MMC webstie there are 2 .zip files the Ppmmc.zip as mentioned by Nik, (didnt work for mine) my trouble required the download of Pnperase.zip. Now mine works fine.
Anyone still having trouble I will post the full address when I can find it

I think I found the file you are talking about. See below.
http://www.scmmicro.com/downloads.html?PID%5B0%5D=5&PID%5B1%5D=32&s1=7&s2=23
I download the file. When I try to install, it is write that it will erase the PNP string in the parallel port cable.????
I didn't click!

Got it working on XP...and was quite easy actually
1. Download the zip posted above (ppmmc.zip)
2. Extract to a dir
3. Right click on setup.exe in the dir, goto Properties
4. Goto the Compatibility tab, click "Run this program in compatibilty mode for:" and select "Windows 2000"
5. Ok out of the dialog box and run setup.
6. Install as normal
Installed fine for me, but the only problem was that it froze while shutting down after the reboot, but after pressing reset there was my lovely I: drive with my mp3s on (check this pic out for proof
here)
XP did take a while to pick up the flash media plugged into the reader, but it works fine after that.
Hopefull this help you guys out

That hardly seems likely since the design must have been done at least 4 years ago, before memory sticks, let alone memory stick duoes were even available.
It really is a rather dated product, with a parrellel port reader, ps/2 connection and only 32mb.
Thankfully these limitations can be worked around, and the player itself sems very good.
Maybe they will make another one that matches the design of the t68i a bit better, but it doesn't seem likely now that the p800 is available.

I didn't install successfully the card reader because I cannot remove the last installation of the ppmmc.
When I tried to install the card reader with your method, I click on "setup" icon and the program ask me to uninstall the (last) bad one. But an error always happen with a message telling: Uninstall cannot continue. The file DeIsL1.isu is altered or...
So.. Impossible to install the new one with your method in such conditions!
Do you know how should I remove it?

you could try removing it from device manager, use the hardwareid tag remover for 2k above, then delete the ppmmc dir...and hope for the best!

Hit a strange snag with using these drivers under XP....with my gf2mx...
if i write to the flash writer, then remove the card, then try to start a DirectX/OpenGL application...boom instant BSOD...but give it a reboot and its fine...very damm strange!
