As fro SE I also think they could do something... may be not luxurious like Vertu but something like Nakamichi does in music systems... I mean real japanese design...

The price is justified in the build quality, exclusivity and the components used – metal phones have always had a higher price tag. The 8910i stayed at around £500 until it was withdrawn due to being obsolete. Also, in the video Ori posted a link to, about half way through it shows the phone opening and it is only the screen that moves NOT the keypad, however at the end it opens keypad and all. Weird eh?

As for video I also noticed that... I think they were making it using some 3D software (3D-Max, Modo etc.) so in the middle of the movie I think it is a just a bug, coz otherwise (if moving part is only a screen) it is senseless.

As for quality, well I had an 8910i and it broke after 5 mouths of using, by the way I have never dropped it. So I was very very disappointed in Nokia.

for such price, 8801 has the following to offer

"In creating the 8800, Nokia designers employed watch-making techniques, such as the use of metal injection molding on the function keys. A specially reinforced glass, typically used in luxury timepieces, provides added toughness and scratch-resistance to the front display, whilst the pop-up mechanism releasing the handset from its protective cover relies on a bi-stable spring mechanism and stainless steel ball bearings. " infosync

If ppl will pay $$$$$$ for nice watches, why not nice phones.

(I had the nokia 8850, it's still by far the nicest looking/feel phone i ever own)

now the question: should i buy nokia 8800, SE K750/W800, samsung SGH-i300(3GB-hard drive music phone) or wait for the next SE P1000?

this is life-changing decision
