well... its a slide... not a swivel it looks like to me... and i think the S series is strictly swivel. what i think it is, is a japan phone... one nowhere else will get.

I honestly can't see sonyericsson making a major mistake this time round. If they make the newer s700 exactly the same as the k750 other then the design, they will loose out bigg time unless the s' series will no longer be there high end market along with the p' series.

If the new version is really just going to be the k750 but in a swivel design then price difference shouldn't be too large. Maybe an extra £50.00 at most because of the screen size. Not only will they loose out by competetion because of the fact its ONLY a 2mp but what it has to offer doesn't compete to a high end phone. If it is still supposed to be a high end phone i dont think that it compares to the likes of nokia's new smartphones. The p'series would but not a half updated k750 with a major price difference.

Although if they're going to bring out a brand new series which represents something in paticular.. err i dont kno.. c700 (c - cybershot) then they could and would compete. As then the S' series wouldnt have all the pressure of it being the high-end phone along with the P'series. It could just be what most people want in a differnt design costing about the same price.

In conclusion i think that either the s700 will be a completly differnt phone to the k750 and will have newer features, better camera, maybe some smartphone features or; the s700 will be the same but in a swivel design and will no longer be 1'a the highend phones and a new series will take over.

If this doesn't happen then i can't see sony competeing very well against other brands... esp samsung.
Price is a major factor and so is classing a phone in the high-end department.
