How did you get sick by eating veg? @ind i eat for living

i didnt actually eat veg food... i just didnt eat meat... ya know what i mean? being veg isnt a big thing here, so veg. good isnt on the menu anywhere etc... but i didnt eat meat, and the doctor said i didnt get enough protien and sumthn else... so it made me sick
