history has always shown, the underdogs perform. Besides newcomers learn from the oldie's mistakes, yet ride on their success. The korean Cheabol's & other Eastern Cos had easy to be lean, mean & get the pulse of the market faster, than the leth'r'gic established players. For all we say, they did enter last, but caught fast. SE, Moto & Nokia have LG Samsung to fear. Samsung will or has launched a 5MP camera phone. Pantech just reverse engi'n'red the SE S700 & will bring out its 'T' mobile. Looks S E X Y

yeah...the threat is surely samsung...LG...i dont think so....but the god thing for us is that samsung mobiles has lot of complains...not good to use at all....and if they prove better on that field then surely its a threat to sony
Nokia.....its good for nothing now...poor built i quality...but what...they have lot of customers who fall in thair trap....
Segam.....what about them......the new one seems to have a better design....i dont know about the camera and functionality.....i saw in a mag... thats all....so not sure about that company....

Actually samsung is no threat to SE! 7mp cam sounds foolish to me, why not just buy a real cam? Only mentally slow ppl wud buy a phone only coz it has a gud cam. There is a lot 2 consider. Look at D500 gr8 cam but da phone itself sucks! User interface is bad on dat phone. Buyin a phone is lyk choosin a girlfriend! Looks or brains ? Or both balanced wel ?

The competition comes from almost all other manufacturers except Nokia. All are after Nokia's share of the market. Every now and then one of the others gets something out of its sleeve that gives it advantage for a while. It always comes down to a good model that for one reason or another (but the looks are alwyas involved) becomes a hit.
The camera is not that important. I don't think people will change phones to have a 2MP cam instrad of a VGA cam. Because despite all other functions a mobile is still in the first place a phone. Its phone functions will be the trigger to buy a new one.

i think the biggest threat comes from the smart phone comanies out there right now... or other players coming up..whodt ake away a share of evryone..
the smasung 7 mp prototype was shown in indian express in jan or feb.. front page side photograph...
as usual some korean chick holding it for the press...
(i wonder why the east asians do that..they relase their hpnes like they relase their cars)

will always have that high-end niche it has created. It simply makes better top end phones. The only thing it isn't good at is bringing out the phones quick enough and thats because of it's size. K750 IS the best phone out there ATM.

it look like the phone get stick to the camera instead of camera stick to the phone.
It is so huge....i wonder what happen if sony go and combine their slim camera (T1, T11) with a phone module...it might look better.
