I reckon it's just their strategy to get you to call them back again on their 50p a min line! The second bloke did it just like that... So I'm happy now!! For GPRS, go to the o2 website & get it to send you the config file for the GPRS connection, then set it as your default profile. Then call o2 again, ask them to enable it and there you go! I had to wait a min & restart my phone before it worked, but it's sorted now! Wasn't sure if i'd get charged for it so I kept my old profile too, but it ain't costing a thing so I'm laffin!

Do they not charge about £5 per Mb on the lowest O2 tarrifs. I dont know how it works but once you have used 1Mb wont they take the money? Thats what I thought anyway.

Phil-when I got my MMS activated (mailed o2 online) gprs was automatically activated, as wap is free on my tariff so is gprs. It should be on your sim too. To get the settings text SETTINGS to 2020, or get them sent from the Sony Ericsson wap site.

Thanks all. Just phoned up O2 and the guy i spoke to switched on my mms and gprs. he said that he thought gprs was counted by clicks whereas wap is counted by minutes. so for example, if you get 300 free wap minutes you get 300 or 3000 clicks of gprs (he couldn't remember which one it was).
I went to SE website and the configurator had two options, "02 mms post pay" and "02 mms prepay". i wasn't sure so i chose the prepay one - will this cause me problems if i hve the wrong one?
Also, do i need to download any new settings for mms and how much will mms messages cost me?
and last but not least, (!) why have i been reading so much about people having to pay loads of money for gprs? i am confused!!

Hi all,
I've had no trouble with GPRS, and haven't been charged a penny for it, so that's about all I can say on that!! As for e-mail, I use Tanger to check my e-mail via our IMAP server... You can set it up to access any account that you could access with outlook.
