The only change I noticed between this release and the earlier one is that, if the phone has lost connectivity to my HBH-300, once they are placed in range again and I make a call, the phone will attempt to reconnect to the headset by itself. Not really sure if this feature previously existed though..but I only noticed it in R5A02

Hey y'all,

I just want to ask, when you press "1" on the keypad does it still give you the "space" as the first character? I upgraded mine and it does. The previous version put "." as the first character when you pressed "1". I restored my backup, but it didn't give me the "." Any thoughts guys?

BB connect from T-Mobile may not work with this version of firmware.

i upgraded my p910i lastnight and it works better for me now. saw some improvements regarding on loading time of OS and of programs. they load faster now than the previous version. although i still have some more testing to do. By the way, someone posted regarding bluetooth headsets loosing range from phone and when phone is in range it reconnects, its been doin that from the previous version. my BT headset is an HBH-30 which is used on my t610 before and it worked fine on my p910i with the previous version. the only improvement i notice is the loading time of the programs. it really is faster now than before.

another successful update for my P910a. This one actually works.

Now begins the big search for differences.

Something that donīt work for me, is the automatic key lock.
First time, after starting the phone in the morning, I have to do it manually. And then the automatic function works. But next day it is the same, first manually then automatic works.
It has been like this since the first release of R5A02. Thought the rerelease would help, but no.
After the latest firmware I restored the phone as usual. Maybe I shouldnīt do that, and restore only the contacts and calender from Outlook? And reinstall my programs. But I donīt look forward to configure the Internet and mail-accounts settings.
Any ideas that this will work?

I emailed SE when this FW came out originally, asking them for a release note. This is what I got (They call it MR4):

Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Call Centre.

With regards to your enquiry, the issues solved by the new MR4 software are:

- SIM-AT problem STK messages do not remain in display
- Sonofon GPRS problem
- Incorrect time for Jamaica, Montego Bay
- Summertime does not change the clock in Lebanon and Jordan.
- Time setting for Hyderabad (Pakistan) is incorrect

Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

Doesn't sound too exciting, does it? Also no mention of BB removal so it's probably fair to conclude that this is the public list as ossposed to the real one. I've done 2 FW upgrades on my P910i already with no problems but I don't think I'll bother with this one and stick with R4A10. Unless that is, somebody can give me something a little bit more substantial than the list above ...
