The way to do it is to post your phone to King Mobile Phones and they flash it to W800 firmware. I just sent mine actually.

Oh and btw you cant do it yourself.

Also remember that flightmode may seem handy, but you will still not be allowed to use it in plains, hospitals or other places where mobiles are not allowed. They dont care if it has flightmode or not, because they do not know for sure if it works as it should without a constantly updated positivelist of devices that has been tested and approved for flightmode usage, and these institutes have no interest in spending alot of money in keeping such updated positivelists just to make people happy about their phones.

That isn't true numb. I work for an airline now, and spent 18 months working in a hospital before this.

As long as your device cannot transmit, then it is fine to use (except on take off and landing in aircraft). That's why they called it 'Flight mode'.

But I'd like to know something, if you flash up a 750 to an 800, would you then use W800 firmware upgrades rather than the k750 ones, or won't either work? If the official W800 firmware upgrades (when they start appearing) won't work, can you explain why not?

When they eventually start making improvements such as the video quality, I'd like to be able to update my W800 flashed 750.

you can do it yourself but you need to buy setool or something like that and purchase the right cable and flash off them.

edit: You need cruiser software and dedicated hardware. Or wait for davinci to bring out w800i and do it through them with the standard cable...

Im fully aware of what "Flight Mode" means, that was not what I was refering to.

The problem is not the flight mode itself, the problem is convincing the personel on the aircraft that your phone actual does have a flight mode that works and is safe to use, a flight mode that disables any transmision. Anyone can board the plane with any strange new device that soposively have a flight mode, but if the airline company does not have a list of certified devices that are tested to work properly, then they should not allow the use of flight mode from a device they do not know.

If they do, then they take security rather casual, and I would like to know which airline company we are talking about, so I can avoid them on my many travels
