Would it be so hard to allow pubs that were run by smokers or those who didn't mind working in a smoking environment? Of course it wouldn't, but then that would show up the fact that many people enjoy smoking and like to do so in a social setting.
One thing that I enjoy immensely is to have a cigar after a nice meal. I can no longer do that in a restaurant and the government (in this case the Scottish Parliament) makes no provision for myself or anyone else who wishes to smoke. In New York establishments are allowed to have a 'smoking room' I believe, why can't we have those here?

Allowing you lot to puff yourselves to death in some dank, fog ridden little room is not going to relieve the pressure on the NHS or the damage you cause to yourselves in the long term.
Heres my crumb of comfort though, seeing as smokers pay so much in tax i believe you all ought to get anti-smoking remedies FREE on prescription or free psychiatric counselling for those dumb enough NOT to want to give it up

The fact is, a blanket smoking ban is totally unnecessary. A huge number of public places, given the option, could and would set up EFFECTIVE smoking rooms whereby smokers could practice their habit in peace and non-smokers would remain unafflicted.
Many smokers are considerate smokers. I used to be one, until I gave up smoking. But I can assure you that I gave up before the ban, of my own accord. In fact, if anything, the ban has made me consider starting smoking again as a matter of principle!

IMO smokers can do what they like in their own homes or cars, so long as the stuff dont waft in my direction.
That being said Alcohol is IMO a much greater evil, Boy i come across as a real fun guy don't i LOL.

Ok, not all pubs, clubs, restaurants etc. would be able to do that but the point is that, those who can, should be given the choice to do so.

and i make all this fuss because when on a bus full of smoke from the bus driver i took a very bad atsma attack and ive had several attacks from ppl smoking near me

True, but know ones been killed by passive smoking either. (or there is no proof of it)
The thing is, I bet if cigarettes were odourless and the smoking was invisible but the same alleged “heath risks” to others was still there, there would be no ban in force!
