Well I have always been an SE smart phone fan. Plus will Palm still be in business in a year or 2?
Will

for that matter?
Hopefully the answer will be in the positive.
Ericsson LM already announced a cash injection of 500Million + set aside for SE. Ericsson LM has NO DEBT, with LOTS of cash to spare - this is the network protocol, hardware & software division of networks used around the world. SE is in good hands and in better shape than Motorola Mobile division or Palm is - as its private investments already injected way too much cash - mostly going to recruit 4 former Apple Engineers.
Again SE offers you MORE choice. Plus Symbian Foundation ^2 OS is the KING of multitasking - long before WM supported it in the PDA days EPOC was multitasking ... why do you think the P800 was running on Symbian?!!
apolloa; don't forget to ability to SAVE municipal, provisional/state, and country maps to the storage memory (device, onboard flash, or microsd) and with turn by turn or updates over data or wlan. right now only WM OS supports this. Android doesn't; and although its "yet" I doubt with GMAPS always serving data online it will ever. Some of us live in countries where true unlimited data is available and this function alone is a cost saver.
Idou will sell quite well, but that stylus is really shite.

Will see if it justifies selling Bold for this one...

I have to say with the exception of the camera the is nothing here I dont already have on my Nokia 5800 Express Music, the OS UI is almost identical os I think we can assume foundation SW is actually S60v5 (Which is not that bad apart from the inconsistent single double click thing)
IF IDOU has the walkman player with bookmark and sleep features, and is priced sensibly (Which knowing

it wont be!) I might consider one, otherwise its just another case of "What is the point of this" from SE again.
The X1 was a joke aimed at who exactly? (Just check prices on eBay compared to P1 prices) and the IDOU also seems to be lacking any clear identity or market place.

@ Prom1,
I think I've heard of that before. I'm happy with installing the maps onto the device though rather then downloading them for each journey. I've read that CoPilot is planning on launching on the iPhone which will be interesting as it has AGPS and as far as I know the Bluetooth doesn't support anything beyond headsets and speakers, and even then it will only work on OSv3. Plug in GPS anyone?
I think in the UK all the unlimited usage policy's are under fair usage guidelines? They all cost way too much anyway, the HTC Magic is offered on 18 or 24 month contracts!!
I agree about the stylus, but this IS a prototype so ya never know, may change yet. I'd never use it that's for sure.
