Is this true ? i ask because i saw someone recently with what i thought was an iPhone 5, the front camera was above the earpiece but it threw me because it had a silver rim rather than black.

But yet ive not seen anywhere that actually shows such 5's in existence.

@ dizzybee - I have the black one, and the first day scuffed the metal around the screen and i haven't even dropped it yet. So i have immediately put a cover on it. But i have seen some black iPhone 5's that now have a silver band around it, quite unsightly. Go for the white.

Thats sucks have you not spoken to apple about it?
are they replacing phones with these probs? hmm

They are indeed replacing phones with this issue and stocking/recommending a case. Aluminum is lighter but dents/bends easilly if its "casted". Forged Aluminum (engines & car bodies) do not.

Seems as if Apple is not using the tech of that company they bought (liquid-metal). Great device but its not meant for longevity for those that are not super careful with their smartphone. I may give Nexus4 a try next month but but I'm doing a LOT of research first this time around.

I doubt anybody, never mind Apple, will change the phone or repair it for a single dead pixel.

Even if for me a dead pixel is a deal breaker. The single most important part these days of a smartphone is its screen. If thats ruined the entire phone is ruined for me no matter how minor.

And therein etaab lies the rub. The perfect argument for a warranty exchange due to 1 bad pixel could mean many more down the road. You use the screen for picture colour accuracy, document proofing, communications etc. I'd say try it ... can't hurt to try when you're not working or having fun, and if shopping same day already then include some time scheduled to go in and see how their legendary support fairs in your case.

Id say try to get it replaced also, as one dead pixel can lead to more and more annoyance to the user.

But i dont think Apple will not without a large fee.

Its not to much of an annoyance if i was only paying under £25 a month for the phone then i would of left it
but im paying almost nearly £50 for it yes a iPhone 4S believe it or not

anyway I do plan on visiting apple next month before my deadline with luck after I mention im paying for the
applecare they will possibly replace it if not I sure hope it mucks up later on so they will then do

btw I downloaded that update ^^ too for a while I noticed facebook would not let me login,
maybe its a good thing as im almost outta data for this month anyway
