@ jim im very sorry to offend you.be sure i didn't want to do it.i know that french is first or second language in africa.that was a reasonwhy had posted it.but about french in canada or switzerlandwe may speak more.french is not first language in those countries.btw i said ineurope and can is ...anyway i am very sorry for my not good joke.

not the whole country, but it IT indeed the first language to a vast population..... which is what truly matters.
Spanish isn't the 'first language' in the USA either....... but do you know how many pl in the USA have Spanish as their first language??

I thought that everyone has thought that common language in EU will be official language in EU.I am very sorry if I mislead to someone.

I would recommend Hungarian as a common language, it's the same very difficult for any eartling! Check this out: no genders whatsoever, no word order (only 4 emphasis), spelling mostly acc. 2 pronunciation, very expressive. ;-) Any1 can pick it up, provided they live among natives from birth! :-)))
