Somebody mentioned that K700 can be updated at home. Is this true or not? If it is where can I find the update link?

Well, I have to say that this is a VERY COOL phone, but that is only when it works properly - which is often times not the case.

I have a problem where my phone does not turn off properly. I turn it off and then 5 seconds later it turns back on. When it turns back on it goes through a 2 second cycle of starting up and then turning off. This doesn't stop until I unplug the battery, take out the SIM, and then put it all back in again. This is SERIOUSLY annoying.

The battery life is also pretty dismal.

I guess the redeeming factor is that there are a lot of cool things on this phone to play with and it is really sleek and cool looking. At the end of the day though I wish I didn't buy it. I'd wait until all the problems are ironed out before buying one for all of you that are thinking of making a purchase.

Good luck!

The K700 i hav got is completely fine and it is R2A041. Some people complain of its oringinal firmware but i have found out that it is fine. THe R2E011 seems to fix the bugs however i don't think i need the upgrade at all. The battery seems to be short, but that is with high fiddling.

There are probably flawed K700 every once in a while, either way there is the 1 year warranty.

My batterytime improved from less than 2 days to 5 days with the software R2E011. My SX1 lasts only 4 days with the same use. I have tested it by charging them same time, and the SX1 stopped working 1 day earlier...

No. Only predefined alerts can be used (some kind of stupid SE limitation).

Or what about a vibrating alert for my received text messages? This should be so simple... but I can't find it and I'm not sure if there is a repeating/vibrating alert - any help?

Thx
