i always use a fly swapper (whaddaya call those things??)
but if that scares you, open a coke bottle, leave a bottom of coke in it and wait till the bugger goes in

I nearly ate a wasp this weekend... it flew in to my beer - I took a swig and felt buzzing in my mouth, so I spat it out quick sharp!!
Very fortunate it didn't sting me, although unfortunately I think I saved it from drowning...
