The reason why windows phone seems so fast according to pocket now video is because of the way the ui is designed, even if it is slower, it seems really fast.

It's also because all Windows Phone 7 phones use the same hardware specifications (only the screen size and camera resolution differs), therefore WP7 can be easily compiled to run smoothly on all its devices, and WP7 updates can also be rolled out more easily (in theory; carriers still like to interfere).
Sony took a similar approach to their 2011 phones.

Anybody knows will Sony produce windows phone or windows tablet ? and when ? After looking at Nokia Lumia (windows phone 7.5), I'm very impress with windows performance. The OS easily outperform android and iOS. The OS is blazing fast (really very fast) even with a single core processor and small RAM.
I've never seen any platform that is faster than windows phone. Really hope that Sony will release windows phone or windows tablet as I don't like nokia.
Phone - No. Tablet - Yes.
Sony Win8 tablet will arrive before the holiday season.
Thanks for that. At least we will get win8 tablet from sony. I do hope sony will produce windows phone as I really love super fast phone. Currently even with the latest ics, windows phone still fast even using lower spec hardware.

Okay, that maybe the reason why windows phone is faster than android. But why windows phone is faster than iphone? iphone is also using the same hardware specs (only one hardware specs).
I've compared the speed of windows phone with the latest android phone and iphone. The single core windows phone (lumia 800) beat the dual core android and iphone. In this regard, a cheaper phone can have a better performance than the expensive ones.
I tend to agree with djin. I think the way the windows phone UI is designed. I'm surprised to see how fast the social network apps (people on the wp7) on the windows phone.It loads less than a second while it takes ages on android and iphone. Not to mention the photo browsing and other apps run instantly. Even the phone startup time is faster than dual core phones.

iPhone isn't quite the same situation; it's compiled for three separate hardware platforms as well as (functionally) two screen resolutions.

How reliable is this info on a Win8 tablet from Sony? We have the info about a Sony tablet with a magnesium-aluminum body, is that the Windows one? Or could we be seeing an Andoird and Windows tablet from Sony?

According to
Engadget, it is the Xperia GX. So, is this the international GX, which is Hayabusa, or it's the Japanese one?!?!?!
Well, I could careless, I'm actually hoping that it's the Japanese one because it has T-Mobile's frequency!!!! Going import it the moment it's available.

@vivftp
As reliable as can be

. The magnesium aluminum body tablet is an Android tablet. There will be both Android and Win8 tablets from Sony. Win8 tablets will be sold under VAIO brand.
@MNX1024
That is the International Hayabusa and not the Japanese model. Japanese model is S0-04D.

Wow, that's actually good news. The fact that it's in the FCC, it'll mean that release/launch won't be too far off!!!

Interesting news indeed randomuser. I wonder if the VAIO tablet will be similar to any of the CES designs we saw. I REALLY liked the one that had an extendible kickstand out of some magic material on the back. But then the other on e with the stylus was pretty nice too. Since they were concept designs though, maybe we'll see both in one!
This will make it interesting to decide what to get this holiday season. I'll likely be looking to upgrade from my Tablet S and a VAIO tablet has a nice ring to it. I do wonder if the existance of a Windows tablet also opens up the door for Windows phones from Sony. It would certainly be interesting if Sony were to dip its toes into Android, Windows and possibly even its own ecosystem with VitaOS.
