Marga! You've made my day! Was gonna go postie huntin if it didn't show up soon!
You'll have to tell me how you do all that un brandin stuff too! My k700 could do with it!
I did email you the code tho, if it wasn't that they should be the factory set codes? I very rarely change them cos i always forget them!

The same software I used to unlock and de-brand it with also turned out to have an option 'clear user codes' so it's all sorted now

The K700 though has a software 'security' feature built in (as all future models may have) that will make it automatically search for updates of your current firmware only

In other words... if you have ornage fw and there is no upadte on it, but there IS newer unbranded fw out, you will not be able to flash it with that.

well... until somebody finds a safe way around that of course

Still the whole phone branding thing is getting a bit ridiculous imho.... vodafone being on the far end of the scale already... but I just do not see the use of branding....

I tend to suck up all information about something when I need it... like now.....

and since I am no fqn of branding phones in any way I pay attention to it too... like I read somewhere that Vodafone is trying seriously to make sure that every postpaid customer on their network has a branded handset (all in the interest of Live! revenue of course)

The bastids. They mean it too

Why built in the 'block' to change fw version is beyond me though that would also mean you could never flash another language pack onto your phone which just CANNOT be in the best interest of the customer imho
