I get this too, but only with the newest Skype running. The screen will go dead and black for a second or two at a time. Really frustrating.

On the upside, I found a mod for hiding the ugly pane outlines on the lockscreen when waking up, I managed to find a port of the stock android camera with photosphere and I got the volume rocker shutter release mod to work (great for underwater shots).

Thanks Ricky D. Mine still on stock, dare not to root at the moment

Tapas, I think that text is appropriate and needed. I have seen some people (earlier when checking my phone) stuck on the lock screen unsure what to do next to unlock the phone!!!

Ok, that changes everything

That's strange that branded firmwares are getting updated before generic ones, till now it was always the other way around.

EDIT:
Generic CE1 was just released so you can go ahead and update your XZ

@doministry

Great to hear that

P.S.
Ja nigdy nie miałem cierpliwości by czekać na update OTA, może następnym razem

Hello Gentleman my name is Ashley and I am from London England, I have been a big fan of Sony since I was young and I have recently been following this blog where there are other lovely and welcoming Sony fans here to and after waiting Long for the Honami I think I will get the Xperia Z and since this is a thread dedicated to the Xperia Z I want to ask how good is the Xperia Z reason why I ask is because I am thinking the Honami sounds tempting but then I am thinking I may as well get the Z for now so when my 2 year contract ends once it starts this year (first time on contract) then I can possibly upgrade to something that could be evening more powerful after the Honami from Sony.

What do you guys think is the best option?

@Ashwa02
To tell you the truth if honami really turns out to be XZ with fixed all the negative points(screen, SoC, 3,5mm flap, speaker and battery life - not that I'm complaining about them, it's what people report as downsides) then at this point I'd suggest you wait for honami.
I love my xperia Z, it's the best phone I have ever had since a very long time and I'll stick to it at least for next 18-24 months and I'm using it for 4 months already. But if I was to buy a new phone I'd wait and see what honami brings to the table.

Update done. OTA, 19 minutes.

All seems fine for now... White letters on white background in the Calendar widget look bad though.
