Is this the new UI ?
If true, then it's not a new UI... just Stock Android with Sony apps/widgets...

i think xperiablog's assumption about this device should be new flagship is'nt true.but the price point,32 gb rom and other phones s70+ and s50 is confusing.z4v isnt even released and new flagship comes? i cant simply imagine.

@Xajel

If the next UI is stock Android then I will %100 jump ship. Why would anyone buy a Xperia when it gives the same user experience with a much cheaper Nexus. I just can't believe things Sony are making. Instead of differentiating themselves from other manufacturers they are becoming a cheap Chinese brand (no offense). Just look at Samsung and iOS 9. Full of features but not bloated. By the way simple hint for Sony, go to the guys that designed the What's New app and make them design the overall UI. I was expecting screen splitting, replying from the notification pop-up, mobile window video player and stuff like that when they stated they will be redesigning the UI. Grid and icon size adjustments will be another welcome feature. But we have a flashed rom Xperia. Pathethic.

i have galaxy s6 and ip6 , and laugh when you said samsung isnt bloaded.samsung has worst software inside top manufacturers.i can easily confirm that s6 ram leakage makes me angry even though it has best hardware,z3 compact with even 2gb ram is fluider then s6.android stock ui isnt bad, works good like ios maybe even better then with a real multitasking feature.i can easily choose stock ui with little touch over heavy ui like touchwiz.
use stock ui with little gimmicks and then make a xperia launcher.

They've already said it'll still have Sony apps and features.
So they can still add multiwindow etc...

I do not agree. My sister has a S6 Edge and it is really smooth. My wife has ip6 and I don't think it is open to discussion .
I am talking about the design of the UI. Colors fonts sizes etc. Stock UI does not look appealing. Google tried this with the google play editions of flags and it wasn't a huge success. People choose between manufacturers by the UI features (apart from hardware) that's why note series are very popular with the multiwindow spen and blah blah blah. When Sony can make a classy transparency weighed dark/light theme for its UI like What's New app, why go with the stock look? It is not appealing to most of the people. You say it will be fluid and smooth but the xperia launcher is already very smooth, htc sense is very smooth and good looking.
Marketing is not all about waterproofness or battery life, it is also how productive your software is. Apple is going all in and hopefully will add color to the competition with ios 9. These are my thoughts.

I like a dark look and the current lollipop looks alright but I agree, some Sony apps look really sleek and they need to do that to the rest of the UI. I think Sony need to be careful not to annoy theme developers so open it up so that they can change everything and I think the community will be happy. We could argue about UI design forever but I think they need a refresh especially if the next flagship has a total body redesign.

Digi-wo source confirms that "sxx" names are just internal codes and that sony will continue with "zx" naming and also mentions that all sony upcoming flagship products will support the next generation fingerprint identification, 0.1s ultra fast focus and more.: http://www.digi-wo.com/thread-32933-1-1.html
i wonder, is 0.1s focus hardware or software?
