@2tek,I also hold no grouse against getting ppl to be more enlightened. What I'm not comfortable wth is MTN's mediocre approach to d issue.Nigerians deserve something better than that.

@AYA and all those that bought MTN sims to use the free GPRS: You guys are unbelievable...last month when MTN launched GPRS on the hush you weren't complaining about the service because it was free and working...even AYA kept a counter of the data he had downloaded...all for free and I didn't hear him complain once about the service as he was happily downloading away.
Once you start paying for it there shouldn't be a problem.

@brix: I like to stay objective. The freebie I enjoyed recently won't stop me from stating the obvious under the present circumstances.
Yes; I believe it will stabilize by the time charges are introduced. But why announce it when the present capacity is incapable of supporting their current subscriber base. Business politics?

I wonder why MTN is limiting access to the service cos it seems to be affecting everyone.
For y'all complaining about the MTN gprs, i think lt's time to switch to a smartphone like SE p900 cos you can change the gprs time-out setting to "never"
that means ur connection remains intact unless you restart the phone.
i no longer worry about reconnecting problems unless someone else switches my phone off or i want to use as a gprs modem with pc...

AYA: Ever heard of a beta test phase? They're obviously testing for glitches...hopefully when you guys start paying for it there shouldn't be any problems with it. I honestly don't think MTN is trying to exploit you guys...if you deem making money a crime welcome to 2005 where the world is truly inter-connected and capital flows at the touch of a button to places where it can grow.

@brix, glo tested theirs & allowed us free gprs for a much longer period & it wasn't like what we're getting from MTN now.
