@ Kryptik,
LOL,Summerstrand brings back many memories; 'Something Good's' colossal burgers in the early 90's,Scala's old shop behind the Pick n' Pay Pantry complex (which also had a dodgy nightclub above called Dune in those days),and I wonder if the legendary Pig and Whistle pub is still going at the bottom of 5th Avenue...
A lot of the Wanqsta's wild oats sewn during student days around there.

Hey Kid777...welcome to the S.A.M.D. If it was just for cellphones I'd move to the Big Smoke(Jozi)...way much more choice then Cape Town. This message was posted from a K700i

@Wanksta, those burgers are still as colossal... as for Dune, i recall going to Faces back in 86/87 and finding that although i was one of the first "persons of colour" to venture inside, i was treated just the same as everybody else i.e. get wasted, buy shares in Durex, etc :-) The good ol' days... @ Kryptik,
Faces!!!!We used to call that place Faeces!!!
LOL,no I suppose it wasn't that bad!
That was there below the Elizabeth Sun,if memory serves me correctly,on the way to Humewood.
Now you're really clearing the cobwebs that were developing around my 90's-jolling memory bank's neurons!
Did you ever go to Sphericals (aka Testicles) in the seedy area at the bottom of the Baakens River, before Brickmaker's Kloof? We always used to hit the 'alternative music' nights on Wednesdays, and hitch back to Summerstrand from around the Donken Memorial in somewhat annebriated states...

Do i ever remember Sphericals! R5 got you thru the door, cheap drinks another R5... R2 worth of petrol in a buddies' Valiant Barracuda... I propositioned the wrong guy's chick 1 night, we ended up driving at breakneck speed on the highway, a Kombi in hot pursuit, our defence- tossing empty bottles at our pursuers.... @ Kryptik,
Oops,I meant hitching up the road by the Campanile, before it joins up to the main road to King's Beach/Humewood/Summerstand.
Got it mixed up with the Donkin Memorial at the top of the hill in Central..
What a nostalgic evening.

@Brix, never figured you for the kinky type, matey... So, what'd they taste like?? @Wanksta, you're referring to Strand Street? These days, to quote JFK (i think...) "tread softly and carry a big stick" I remember a time when we could sleep it off on Market Square, in comparative safety... This message was posted from a Nokia

@ Kryptik,
Strand it is.

Just back to the ROKR E1,in the sometimes questionable opinion posts on www.gsmarena.com regarding this phone and others, one of the blokes says that (apparently) the ROKR doesn't allow for Bluetooth data transfer.

Wonder if the Monkey Man could shed some more light/concrete facts as regards this for us...
