In only 2 months time the total value of service/check ups/repairs and mot ends up being more than the value of the whole gawd-damned car
I can't help but feeling that one of them bloody mechanics is lying.... if they all repaired the f**ker how can it be broken again?

Mornin Marga...
Same thing happened to me and the missus and her Mk5 Escort Cabrio... We've just had to have a new gearbox, clutch, front suspension, all new oil seals plus more... First it was the clutch then the gearbox went so i took it to another garage! They told me someone had drained the gearbox oil out(the other garage perhaps). So we're now in two minds to start court proceedings... We ain't really got any proof.... But all in all, with some bodywork repair(The missus fault not mine) it's cost just short of £2000!!!

AA Warranties are good for things like this... they're applicable to cars under 10 years/100,000 miles.
I love my car!!
I'll love it even more after it's been fixed... a loony sales rep hit it in his vectra a couple of weeks ago

The 'scort had simular damage!
But it was done by an old bag in a micra!
The missus was gutted! But the woman that did it signed a liability statment on the side of the road

well... like I said it's been serviced and had mot done on 5th of June. (new tires, oil change, some other stuff)
Broke down in italy half July (cooling liquid started leaking)... spend 3 days in dodgy italian garage.... 650 euro!

the f**king twat!!
and now got brake problems..... back to garage (450 euro

) and they tell me my tires are in terrible shape (they sposed to be less than 3 months old!!

)
can't help but being under the impression that bastid italian stripped the good parts off

but can't prove a thing of course
what next?

Never go to a foreign garage if you can help it, as soon as they realize you're foreign, they will try to rip you off bigstyle. Maybe generalizing, but it DOES happen a lot!

Normally put Yokohama tires on my car... They'll last only 3months if i drive like a looney!!(that doesn't mean wheel spins and stuff, just fast round roundabouts and corners!) Otherwise it looks like ya in the same boat as me and the missus...
