Folks, I am on G**Tel India Home post paid plan at Hyderabad. And I can access all sites using the masala settings-both directly as well as the free method. But alas...both are getting charged. How do I know that being on a post paid plan? Well, in India One plan, all your sms and calls are in multiples of Re1. So when I find a 33 paisa charge as my current bill...that shows for sure that GPRS is being charged. And the paise part changes the day I access GPRS (both free as well as direct methods).
One good thing is after noticing this, I have called up the customer service guys time and again and sked them what'll happen if I access sites such as google/yahoo/rediff using the masala settings. They said all browsing is free. So on the basis of these calls, I'll be having my GPRS chrages revoked at the end of the month....Sick trick.....But can't help it. Not interested to pay for a stupid slow GPRS service which fails most of the time.

No more free sms but they are charging at discounted rate i.e. A2A 0.30p and other local mobile @0.60p. At least un kamino k paas kuch sharam to bachi hai.
