Lets compare the W800 and W810 - answer is the K810 replaces the K800. The K800 has a lot of clearance deals around at the moment.
I prefer the look of the W880....but will wait till June when I come out of contract and the FW may have stabilised.

Depends on how long it takes your network operator to approve the FW. Then SE release it through SEUS. Normally 2 to 3 weeks although sometimes it hasnt come out due to being blocked by the operators.
The operators each need to separately approve the FW due to their individual customisation.

luckily, phone operators here in the philippines dont brand phones with their own customizations. so we use the generic f/w SE releases.

All data will be lost, and you need good intnet connection speed as the file to be downloaded is at least 30 MB for main file and 20 MB for FS. As the new f/w is uploaded, you have a as if brand-new phone just like the 1st time you bought it.
SEUS only updates files that needed to be updated. So, no data is lost. But, sometimes it needs a long wait. So, be patient for a free way..
FOTA? It's not reliable at all I think. Mine always says 'yours is the latest' anytime I try. Other people managed to update via FOTA, but not me. Don't know why. The file is just around 3-4 MB, so prepare some extra credits..
Other ways are simply:
-visiting SE Service Centre. Don't hope much as newer f/w is rarely available.
-ask someone with Cruiser or SEtool standalone box to update yours offline. But, it's not recommended as many here in Indonesia, the tools used are hacked version which block the phone from future SEUS update. In my town, Malang, I know someone with this service if you want, only for 50k..but it's the hacked one. He has the Speedy net to download which f/w you want.

Yup I live in Surabaya, Indonesia. Maybe I should wait and go to SE service centre. because i dont have a good internet connection.

Wotan Server Client is now version 0.9.981. And the big news is that WotanServer is now able to upgrade old EROM R3A011 to R3A016 although your EROM is CID 51....this is what I've been waiting for long since I just saw my mate's K800i dead due to the old EROM...Just upgraded my old EROM CID 51 R3A011 to R3A016 just now. It just took 11 seconds..what a fast service. Alhamdullillah, I'm free from WSOD threat at last. Come on, guys..upgrade yours now! It didn't take any credit of mine...
