Just rang SE customer care in the UK and they said 2nd week of February for Generic Handsets, so it should be this week.

the guys got asked to put up and didnt .... thats it!
In most businesses it makes sense to inform the client what the situation is. Tell them that there is a problem and the new software/development will be ready in a month or is due whenever but may slip but let them know something.
If s/e made some sort of public announcement they would pacify alot of people or at the very least manage the expectation

ya, go some pages back and you'll see exactly what you just posted but then with "week 6" instead of "2nd week of february"

It seem like the SE (we don't)care centres sits on the same old info: The firmware will be released week 6. I say mail them, call them and aks where's the firmware?? If the say they don't know then do what i did- ask them to find out! Put some leverage on SE now because it's very called for!

i really doubt theyll care about a thread in a forum on the internet. but its worth mentioning it to them i suppose. my god i remember sitting here well over a month ago thinking "itll come any day now"
i can only hope that you fine people remember this experience when buying your next phone. or when recommending a phone to a friend
