I know it sounds obvious but have you tried someone elses sim in your phone just to make sure it
is your phone? When the mast went down here i had the same problem - the signal kept jumping from 0 upto 5 all the time very rapidly....

Yeah i have infact tried my sim in a variety of differet people's phones, and a variety of sims in mine, yet still nothing!!!!!!

If
your sim doesn't work in other phones then it's
your sim problem and not your phone.... if other people's sims (on other networks) don't work in your phone then it's your phone.
