Hi everyone. I joined this forum just for this topic.

I'm eagerly awaiting the X1 as well. I need it so that I can show it to my friends thereby pointing out the glaring deficiencies of the iPhone.

But really, I have read every single post on this topic. Roffle, you guys fight too much. I think we all just have to agree that the X1 is a very kick-arse, attractive device.... but also agree that there are other very kick-arse, attractive devices that are just as good, and that different devices suit different people better.

I just want SE to hurry up and release this thing, because it happens to suit my needs very well. And it looks cool. And I need something new to satisfy my expensive and unnecessary gadget craving.....

However I've never yet found a PDA that truly satisfies my ergonomics requirements of a phone (ie calls and sms) or as a decent camera phone, so therefore I have not yet combined my two needs into one device.

I thing the upcomin NOKIA TUBE will suite your need

Tube is not a PDA. And it will never be.
Think before you post.

As a wm users for years now (and yes s60 too), I just want to point out/remind to the readers of this tread, the X1 is a WM device.Now,just in case some of you don't know, crashes are expected (normal with windows OS) and the device has a reset button with a reason On top of this (literally) this device has a SE 'improved' interface ! Looking back at SE's track record (P990i,P1 comes to mind) some of you are in for a HUGE surprise Even more so if you have no previous experience with a Windows Mobile OS ! I know I will be burned to dead because of the above opinions, but one thing should raise eyebrows even in the most fanatic fan - why do you think no WM device has ever sold in huge numbers as a cell phone? Xperia YES - as long as you have a 3310 in the other poked

@mario2004, good for you. WM crashes all the time so therefore no one buys it. How informative and convincing!

Thanks

WM is not the crash monkey it used to be. My brother in law's N95 crashes more often than any of my WM devices.

Get with the program buddy

I couldn't thank some of you because I was punished for being new member. (limit of 3 posts) Hope today they consider me as a veteran and let post more than 3 (ha,ha)

@Max_wedge
"I'm sure mib will argue with you on that one.

He's the king of the one handed t-niners, reckons he can t-9 faster than anyone can type on a qwerty.

I don't know if I believe him though. "
---------------
I feel envious of Mib. For me that's painful. Nokia's are good, but that layout is totally annoying because I am always in a hurry (impatient he,he)
I got excited when the Treos came up but when I put my hands (fingers, rather) I thought it was designed for my 5 years old nice's finger. I can say the same for the BB's Keyboard.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@carkitter:
"Market research I've seen online says that 40% of US iPhone version 1 owners use their iPhone as a laptop replacement, a useage that has always been touted by PDA manufacturers but never delivered on as you and others still carry both. With the 3G version 2 and the new App store, some of those requirements of yours may be catered for.

I take your point regarding the ergonomics of a TS qwerty vs a proper keyboard, I can only say try one out and see...

It would seem like a WM device is best for you though."
-------------------------
Thanks it seems I going that way. At this point I'm waiting for the Xperia (99% though) to try a real keyboard. I tried the tilt at the store for a few minutes. Not enough to make a good judgement but it felt GOOD. I almost buy it.
I can't agree with that poll. I'm not against the iPhone, I thinks it is a fabulous iPod with phone and great touch screen. So it has its market nich. Good for them and for the people who gets satisfied with it. BUT BUT BUT BUT... I'm not going to elaborate on the BUTS because everybody knows them. So how come they can be a laptop replacement??? it's beyond me.

You always play my tune. Good answer to Mario2004. We need people here that contribute, we don't have to agree, but they must contribute with substance.
I know WM is not perfect (not even in the desktops HA HA) but it does things that others don't. Tha't good enough for me (for now...)

Thank for the feed back guys. ( 3 post HA!-I just cheated. LOL)

@pinguino2, yes I must admit I'm a bit envious of mib's texting ability, but I still reckon the average person is like you and I - ie: finds it easier to type fast on a qwerty.

I never said 'it crashes all the time' ! Read again my post (a few times if necessary). Eventually you'll understand it. (Tip: You'll understand it easier if you read it 'as is' without adding or deleting words in your mind). And no, I wont get into a argument about this - I use Windows Mobile for too long to get fooled around by newbies. I expect to be shot down by fans,all I am asking for is - do this after christmas (lets hope the device will be out in numbers before then)

@mario

Believe it or not, in 1 years use my TyTn II may have crashed about once, and thats due to a faulty app, not the phone. Maybe you've been using the wrong WM device
